From Sisqo's "Thong Song" to Trina's "No Panties," underwear has become the hottest article of clothing lately. Everyone wants to know who wears what. From thongs to big mama dross, from boxers to briefs to boxer briefs, we'll find out what's really up under there.
Let Me See That Thong
Everyone knows about them. The thong has become the latest craze and has been flying off store shelves.
"In a thong, I feel like a sexual goddess," says Brandi, 18.
Others say they're too raunchy and uncomfortable. "There's no way I'd have something wedged up my butt all day," says Angela, 15.
And girls aren't alone — guys are rocking thongs, too. How about that?
Are Those Your Granny's Panties?
Granny panties. You know, the long panties with the hanging crotch? Have any?
"Yep," says Cathy, 16. "I wear them on first dates so I won't go too far with a guy."
But, Craig, 15, thinks they're sexy. Are big mama dross sexy, too? "No, panties that sag off the butt? That's not sexy, it's nasty."
Boxers or Briefs?
Is he digging the style of baggy boxer shorts or is he sticking to briefs? "I can't imagine having my 'stuff' squashed in tighty-whities all day," says Nathan, 18.
Others disagree. "Briefs fit nicely and I don't have to constantly adjust myself," says Anthony, 17.
What about girls in boxers? "I love it," says Pedro, 17. "It's sexy because they're so girly."
For girls, it's a little more, though. "They're way comfortable," says Lisa, 15.
Boxer Briefs
What about the guy who prefers both snugness and freedom? Ta-da! Boxer briefs. To some, boxer briefs — a baggier-style brief — is the best of both worlds. Not only are they comfortable, they look nice, too. "They make my package look much bigger," says Aaron, 14.
But not everyone digs them. "They're plain ugly," says Carmen, 16.
Too Tight?
But beware of too much snugness — wearing underwear that's too tight may lower sperm count. And some guys develop jock itch, an itchy fungus condition, by wearing clothes that are too tight or fabrics that don't "breathe." That can take the fun out of undies, fast!
And the same goes for girls — wearing tight underwear and underwear without a cotton crotch can irritate the vulva. It may sound boring, but white, all-cotton underwear is actually healthiest for the vulva!
No Panties On?
How about skipping the undies? For girls, it's actually not a bad idea — sleeping without underwear sometimes can help keep the vulva healthy and give it some breathing room.
And guys? Health-wise, it's fine to "go commando" — but does a guy want to hang that loose? Michael, 14 laughs, "I did it before. It was hilarious! Things were bouncing around the whole time."
It's Not You; It's Your Undies
Does it really matter if a person wears boxers or briefs or if they're in their good panties? What really makes underwear sexy, the person or the underwear?
"Underwear," says Glenn, 19. "I haven't met anyone who didn't look good in a thong."
But not everyone thinks so. Some feel the person who's wearing them makes all the difference. As Shane, 18, claims, "The underwear could be dingy white and full of holes, but if that special person is wearing them, they're perfect!"
