Your Question:

Dear Experts,

I think i had an orgasm but it only lasted for about 3 seconds. Itfelt very good and it happened during masturbation. So i was wondering how long are orgasms?

shortybngbng

The Answer:

Dear shortybngbng,

An orgasm usually lasts a few seconds.

Orgasm is the peak of sexual arousal when all the muscles that were tightened during sexual arousal relax, causing a very pleasurable feeling that may involve the whole body.

During orgasm, painkilling chemicals called endorphins are released into the bloodstream, causing intense pleasure and relaxation. You may feel flushed or warm, and you experience rapid muscle spasms all over your body, but mainly concentrated in the genital and anal areas.

A guy's orgasm is usually accompanied by the release of ejaculatory fluid, and about 10 percent of women also ejaculate during an orgasm.

Interestingly, the contractions of the vagina, uterus, urethra, anus, and pelvic muscles that happen during orgasm occur at exactly the same intervals among women and men. They happen exactly 0.8 seconds apart. In women, they happen five to 12 times. In men, they happen about three to six times.

Hope this information helps!

Take care,
