Your Question:

Dear Experts,

i was treated for chlamydia does this mean my boyfriend cheated

jlynn87

The Answer:

Dear jlynn87,

It's possible, but it's also possible that you or your boyfriend had chlamydia before you met. Most people who have chlamydia — about 75 percent of women and 50 percent of men — have no symptoms.

If symptoms do show up, women might have abdominal pain, vaginal discharge, bleeding between periods, or pain during intercourse or urination. Men sometimes have discharge from the penis, pain or burning while urinating, or swollen or inflamed testicles.

Both women and men might have rectal inflammation if their anus is infected. More rarely, chlamydia could cause a sore throat if women or men get infected from oral sex.

Hope this information helps!

Take care,
