Your Question:

Dear Experts,

I have noticed recently that I have started to feel deep feelings for one of my teachers. Everytime I see her, my heart beat raises and I get an erection. What should I do because I really like her but I don't know whether I should discuss this with her. Please help me!

DACNinja

The Answer:

Dear DACNinja,

It's totally normal to develop feelings for your teacher, and it's nothing to feel guilty about. Lots of people get crushes on their teachers (and camp counselors, dentists, friends' parents, therapists, etc.). In fact, there are probably a couple of other students in your class with just the same kind of crush you have. The great thing about crushes that aren't meant to be is that they usually pass. But use the opportunity to think about the qualities you like about her so you'll know what to look for in a partner your own age.

In reality, the chances are your teacher doesn't share your feelings. She's probably more interested in keeping her job than finding a date. So, discussing your feelings with your teacher will probably just embarrass you and make her feel uncomfortable. Plus, it's illegal for your teacher to have a romantic or sexual relationship with you. So take it easy, and let it pass.

Hope this information helps!

Take care,
