Your Question:

Dear Experts,

will i get a disease or infection if i ejaculate in a pool or hot tub???

underso

The Answer:

Dear underso,

You cannot get a sexually transmitted infection by ejaculating in a pool or a hot tub.

Unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse have the highest risks for the most sexually transmitted infections. If you do have vaginal or anal intercourse — in or out of a pool or hot tub — using a latex or female condom reduces the risk of infection. To further reduce the risk of infection during oral sex, use a condom to cover the penis and a Glyde® dam or plastic wrap to cover the vulva or anus.

If you think you have a sexually transmitted infection, see a health care provider. Or call 1-800-230-PLAN to make an appointment with the Planned Parenthood health center nearest you.

Hope this information helps!
