Your Question:
Dear Experts,
My friend gave oral sex to her boyfriend, he "came" in her mouth and she swallowed it. Then, they kissed- with tongue contact. A few minutes later he gave her oral sex, about 30 seconds into it he stopped and wondered if the semen from her mouth could've gotten into his and is now on her. Could she get pregnant? Is it possible for semen to go from one mouth to the next and survive in a mouth?

The Answer:
Dear ohhello1234,
It seems unlikely, but in theory it's possible. Touching the vagina or vulva with ejaculate, whether on the penis, the finger, or tongue could cause pregnancy.
Even though some authorities suggest that saliva can kill sperm, it is probably not a highly effective spermicide. And sperm doesn't die when it hits the air. So theoretically there could be enough sperm to cause pregnancy.
Any woman who is concerned about unintended pregnancy may want to consider emergency contraception (EC). EC can reduce the risk of pregnancy if started within 120 hours of unprotected vaginal intercourse, or other kinds of sex play. The sooner it is started, the more effective it is. If started within 72 hours, it reduces the risk of pregnancy by up to 89 percent.
