Your Question:
Dear Experts,
Can you get pregnant from anal sex?
Haruhi, 07.25.06
The Answer:
Dear Haruhi,
It's not possible for anal sex to cause pregnancy, unless ejaculate or pre-ejaculate gets into the vagina or on the vulva. If a man ejaculates during unprotected anal sex, most of it will spill out of the anus and some of it will be absorbed into his partner's body, but it can't cause pregnancy this way.
Although anal sex can't cause pregnancy, it is high risk for many sexually transmitted infections, including chlamydia, gonorrhea, hepatitis, herpes, HIV, HPV, and syphilis. Latex or female condoms reduce the risk of infection during anal sex.
Hope this information helps!
