Your Question:
Dear Experts,
Can a person get a yeast infection in their mouth by giving oral sex to a female who has a vaginal yeast infection? If the answer is yes, then what are the symptoms?

The Answer:
Dear kiwi79,
A small amount of yeast is normally present in the mouth of a healthy person. When excess yeast appears in the mouth, throat, or tongue, it is called “thrush.” Thrush appears as thick, whitish coating on the mouth, throat, or tongue. The same fungus that causes thrush causes vaginal yeast infections. Thrush and vaginal yeast infections are not transmitted by any kind of sexual contact.
Hope this information helps!
