Your Question:

Dear Experts,

how much does a gyno exam cost? I didn't find it on your site.

Feowyn

The Answer:

Dear Feowyn,

A gynecological exam usually costs between $35 and $125. Costs vary from community to community, based on regional and local expenses. Many Planned Parenthood centers offer health services on a sliding scale, according to how much income (if any) a teen makes or how much she is able to pay.

To make an appointment, you can call our toll-free nationwide appointment number, 1-800-230-PLAN. Your call will automatically be connected to the Planned Parenthood health center nearest you. When you call for an appointment, be honest with the staff about your financial situation.

You may also want to contact other clinics in your area and find out what their costs are for teens. Many clinics will have reduced rates for teens and some may offer free services.

For information on what to expect during a gynecological exam, check out The Gynecological Visit and Exam — Your Key to Good Health.

Hope this information helps!

Take care,
