Your Question:

Dear Experts,

I have an awesome boyfriend but recently found out he masterbated. I don't have a problem with it in the least but want to know why people do it.

ellie08

The Answer:

Dear ellie08,

Masturbation is touching one's own sex organs for pleasure. It is a way for people to learn about what does and doesn't feel good to them sexually, to learn how to have orgasms, to enjoy themselves sexually, and to relieve stress.

Although some people may worry that masturbation is harmful, it actually is also one of the body's most effective ways to relieve stress. It is completely safe and healthy. Most people masturbate, and many people masturbate when they are in sexual relationships with other people.

Hope this information helps!

Take care,
