Your Question:
Dear Experts,
Will planned parenthood ever contact your home or parents if you don't want them to?
Qutbri, 01.11.06
The Answer:
Dear Qutbri,
In general, minors do not need parental consent for prescription contraception, emergency contraception, or testing for sexually transmitted infections. However, there may be certain locations where, for one reason or another, the provider will require parental permission.
Planned Parenthood provides reproductive health care services that include information, contraception, testing, and counseling on a full range of options to women, men, and teens across the country. Planned Parenthood's policy is to protect client confidentiality to the extent the law allows. Check with your local Planned Parenthood health center about confidentiality policies. You can find a health center by calling 1-800-230-PLAN.
Hope this information helps!
