Your Question:

Dear Experts,

i have a question that im worried about. when im erect sometimes i release a clear fluid. A very small amount. Is it just because i am excited or do i have a disease. I have no other symptoms.

ddffaa44

The Answer:

Dear ddffaa44,

It sounds like you're talking about pre-ejaculate. Pre-ejaculate (also known as "pre-cum") is seminal fluid that seeps from the tip of the penis during sexual excitement, before ejaculation happens. This is perfectly normal and healthy.

Pre-ejaculate may contain sperm from a previous ejaculation. Both pre-ejaculate and ejaculate can carry sexually transmitted infections.

If you have discharges from the penis when it is not erect, you may have a sexually transmitted infection and should get it checked out. You can schedule an appointment with a clinician at Planned Parenthood by calling 1-800-230-PLAN.

Hope this information helps!

Take care,
