Your Question:

Dear Experts,

My Friends bF hits her all the time and neither of us know what to do plz help we're both really scared

plzhelp555

The Answer:

Dear plzhelp555,

Hitting someone is never acceptable. It is physically abusive, and it's against the law. It sounds like your friend is not safe in her relationship, and things may get worse.

You or your friend could speak with a trusted adult about this, or your friend can call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE to speak with a trained counselor. The hotline is free and confidential. If your friend feels that she is in immediate danger and needs help right away, she should call 911 to reach the police.

Planned Parenthood health centers can also offer support and referrals for counseling. Call 1-800-230-PLAN to find a health center near you.

Hope this information helps!

Take care,
