Your Question:
Dear Experts,
I've recently started drinking lots of coffee. I hear it stunts your growth, but am I in danger if I think i'm done growing? Is it REALLY all that bad for you, say if you drink one cup each morning?

The Answer:
Dear heythere55,
It's a myth that coffee or caffeine stunts your growth. In fact, for most people, it's fine to consume moderate amounts of caffeine. Still, it's a good idea to watch how much coffee you drink.
Studies suggest that, for an adult, having one or two cups of coffee a day will not adversely affect your health. Excessive caffeine, however, can cause jitteriness, shakiness, racing pulse, upset stomach, headache, and insomnia.
How much caffeine is right for you? It depends. Some people are more sensitive to caffeine than others. In general, people who weigh less are more affected by caffeine than heavier people. People who have chronic health problems may not be able to drink as much coffee, and many clinicians advise pregnant women to limit their caffeine intake.
Hope this information helps!
