football12

The Answer:

Dear football12,

Some teens find that confronting the person and being upfront with their feelings is the best way to sort things out. You may want to explain how you feel and ask her how she feels about the situation. Keep in mind that sometimes people are unaware of how their actions affect other people.

As for the love question, many people agree that there are six basic qualities to healthy, loving relationships:

  • respect
  • trust
  • honesty
  • fairness
  • equality
  • good communication
Some teens find it helpful to evaluate their current relationship to see if they share these qualities with their partners. You may want to ask yourself, "Does my partner respect me? Do I trust her? Is she always honest with me? Am I always honest with her? Do we treat each other fairly and equally?" Many teens involved in relationships also find it helpful to ask their partner these sorts of questions.

Hope this information helps!

Take care,
