Your Question:

Dear Experts,

Why do some girls get inverted nipples? Will they stay like that forever, or will they "pop" out??

dolphin_05

The Answer:

Dear dolphin_05,

Inverted nipples point in rather than out. Having inverted nipples is totally normal, and many women have them. Sometimes, as a woman's breasts continue to grow, the nipples will be pushed outward.

A woman can still enjoy sex play and breastfeed her baby if one or both nipples are inverted. There are no health problems associated with having inverted nipples. However, an infection can occur if fluid or discharge from the nipple gets caught in the folds around the inverted nipple. So a woman who has inverted nipples should be a little extra careful about keeping her nipples clean.

Hope this information helps!
