Your Question:

Dear Experts,

I heard that during sex if it takes a guy a long time to come it means hes had sex before and that if he comes fast he was a virgin. Is that true?

siren1105

The Answer:

Dear siren1105,

No, not necessarily. Early ejaculation, or premature ejaculation, means that a guy can't control his response to the stimulation that triggers ejaculation, so he ejaculates before he wants to. It's true that early ejaculation is fairly common in younger, less sexually experienced guys. In fact, up to 35 percent of young men experience early ejaculation so often that they see it as a problem.

However, that doesn't mean that a person can determine if a guy is sexually experienced or not based on how long it takes him to ejaculate. Early ejaculation can also be caused by extreme excitement, fear and anxiety about sex, alcohol and drug use, and depression.

Open communication with a partner about likes and dislikes, and paying attention to sensation — to slow down the process of getting to the point of ejaculatory inevitability — during sex play can help guys delay ejaculation.

Hope this information helps!

Take care,
