Your Question:

Dear Experts,

can a guys penis get wet when he's aroused? or is it just us girls who get wet?

sft14

The Answer:

Dear sft14,

It depends what you mean by wet! Men don't get "wet" the same way women do. When a guy gets aroused sexually, the erectile tissue in his penis relaxes. Blood flows into it at a faster rate than it flows out (called vasocongestion). This causes the penis to get larger and harder. This is an erection, sometimes called a boner or a hard-on.

Pre-cum, or pre-ejaculate, is a liquid that seeps from the tip of the penis during sexual excitement, before ejaculation happens. This fluid coats the urethra and helps sperm move.

This is different from the kind of "wetness" that women get when they're aroused. When a woman is aroused, blood flows to the genitals — the clitoris swells and the vagina lubricates itself, which is known as "getting wet."

Hope this information helps!

Take care,
