Your Question:

Dear Experts,

i have hair on the shaft of my penis. is this normal??

ralphio

The Answer:

Dear ralphio,

Yes. It is normal to have pubic hair on the shaft of the penis. People have hair in different places of the body, and there is no need to do anything about it unless someone wants to.

If a person does decide to remove hair, keep in mind that shaving in sensitive areas such as the genitals can lead to razor burn and in-grown hairs — both of which can be itchy and painful. Some people use special safety scissors to trim their pubic hair rather than shaving it with a razor. An electric razor is also a safer option for removing unwanted hair around the genitals.

Whether someone chooses to shave, trim, or remove pubic hair is ultimately a personal choice — and is usually done for cosmetic reasons. If people choose to trim their pubic hair, the amount that is removed is up to each person.

Hope this information helps!

Take care,
