Your Question:
Dear Experts,
If your boyfriend has Hepatitis C and you have protected sex with him, can you get it? Or, what if you have unprotected sex, can you get it still? And by macking with him can you get it?

The Answer:
Dear tia888,
It is unlikely. While the hepatitis C virus (HCV) can be spread by sex play, this does not occur very often. Hepatitis C is a liver disease caused by the hepatitis C virus, which is found in the blood of persons who have this disease. The infection is spread by contact with the blood of an infected person.
To reduce the risk of transmission of any sexually transmitted infection, use latex condoms correctly and every time.
Hope this information helps!
